This workshop is a wonderful opportunity to spend 10 days in idyllic South of France painting with other artists, while enjoying the natural beauty and bounty of France. We have carefully selected a beautiful chateau above a hillside village for this stay. Dinners, transportation and accommodations are included. There will be a day trip to explore the trail of Van Gogh. The castle's history is ancient, and the castle too, with its start in the 600s. But as time marched on, it has been successively owned and reowned and brought up to modern standards. Now it boasts full amenities, 2 swimming pools and wifi. The stay in France is led by award winning painter Julie Snyder, a seasoned traveler and professional artist. See here for more about previous trip to France. This trip will be unforgettable to artists of all levels.
The main salon, overlooking the village and a view that stretches for miles. After dinner demos, discussions and talks about our painting happen here. Click here for more information. The castle residence for the stay is ideally located near Avignon and within an hour's drive to the most desirable sites in Provence for painting and enjoyment.
A typical day on this workshop might begin with rising to the sound of the waking countryside and a petit déjeuner where we discuss the day's destinations. The goal is to paint everyday, usually in the morning. A restful lunch in the village or under a tree revives the inner artist. Afternoon sketching takes place in a shady spot by the river. As the sun goes down it's back to the chateau for a farm-style meal with the group as we share the day's highlights and sample the region's wine and take a quick night dip in the swimming pool.
